We gave these super cute and yummy jars of amazing homemade hot fudge to our neighbors and friends for Valentine's Day a while back.
Selfishly and sinfully we kept a few jars for ourselves and loved ones at home to drizzle (then drizzle some more) on top of Ice Cream and Brownies... and fruit?!   Did someone say drizzle fudge over fruit? Um- yes please, right here!! Soo good.

Homemade fudge sauce is much better than store bought. It's also very simple to put together in no time at all.

This recipe comes from Grandma Jami.
She's known for making ice cream shakes drizzled with thick homemade fudge sauce. Kids (and adults who wish they were still kids) have been known lined up single file in her kitchen just to have the this drinkable deliciousness spooned upon their ice cream.

We're warning you right now- you're gonna wanna double this recipe.  If not quadruple it- just for yourself and a few friends.  It's just really that rich and fantastic!

Here is a cute printable tag to go with this simple gift.  This would be great for a sister in your ward or even a kids teacher or coach.  Grandparents too!
To print the tag, right click the image below and download or save to your device.  You can then size it to your liking and print as many as you would like.

How's your family Sunday discussion's going today?  I couldn't figure out why after church services today- everything went wrong.  We walked in the door to our home, I put our CFM Manuals on the table and we were dishing up lunch.  With in minutes we had a tornado of random frustrations from each one of us. It came out of now where and created such an unnecessary environment of contention.  If it wasn't so frustrating it'd almost be comical! It quickly became very clear to me that THIS was the Adversary.  He knew we were ready to sit down to talk about our Savior and learn of Him.  I went upstairs to collect my thoughts and say a silent prayer.  I wasn't sure how our family could get back on track for the day, but knew as a mother it was up to me and my spouse to lead the way.  I sat waiting- hoping for an immediate answer.  It came with a faint thought of go back and sit at the table and read your manual, the other will follow.  I dismissed it for a bit still jumbled with my thoughts.  Again I came back to settle on that thought a few times before I listened and realized it was in fact my answer.  I walked downstairs and did just that.  With in the next few minutes our family was able to come full circle and recover.  We sat at the table to begin our simple lesson.  IT HAPPENED AGAIN!  Completely different bantering out of nowhere!! This time- I quickly had my thoughts on board and began to address exactly what this was- it was Satan.  We talked about it, kept things under control and moved forward with our lesson.  Not with perfection, not without teenage complaint or other no cohesive attitudes.  But we continued.  We talked of Christ.  We learned of Christ.  We succeeded in our efforts...and that today was more than enough!! 🖤
"Sometimes you face difficulties not because you are doing something wrong, but because you are doing something right." Anyone else feel this way?  Have you felt the Adversary trying hard to disassemble your efforts?  In turn have you felt the spirit in your home and the promptings of him? Are you hearing the answers to your prayers?

As parents we will do well to truly pray that Satan be kept at the door of our homes.  When we say home, what we really mean is that we pray his influence will be kept from creeping into our family, no matter where we are.  This goes for Grandparents, Parents, Children and all extended family.  Satan will stop at nothing to destroy the sanctity of our families!
Let's do our best to remember when things go awry- especially when we think we have it all figured out and under control, that it's him.  The destroyer working overtime.  Practice this 5 step process to catch Satan in his tracks and dispell his efforts.

This would be a good FHE lesson.  Let's let the kids in on this one- they too can help recognize the Adversary at work.  Here is a printable for you to use in your home and for any lesson regarding the adversary.  Let's put these small printables on magnet board or in the kids rooms to remind us how we can counteract contention when it starts.

Sharing another Home centered church supported idea!  This chalk board peel and stick is located in a main hallway of my brother's home.  There's just the right amount of room here to put the basics of the Come Follow Me weekly information.
1.  The weekly lesson head
2.  The New Testament Chapters being covered.
3.  Maybe include a quote or reference to a specific talk as well.
Easy peasy!  Update once a week and all family members will see it as a reminder during their daily comings and goings.

You can use regular chalk only,  but we also like the idea of using erasable chalk pens that won't smudge.  There are quite a few inexpensive brands that can be found at Walmart and Target.  If you search Amazon, there are packs that you can have shipped to you in no time.   Here is the Chalkola Marker set link to get them through Walmart:

One of my favorite Valentines Days a few years back was when I used the them of Showering my family with love!
I snagged a pack or two of dollar store balloons in pink, red, and white and blew them up before hand.  It took about 30 minutes and when I was done I stuffed them in a large garbage back to keep hidden.  I think I put it in the corner of my closet or a room somewhere with an added random blanket for extra concealing measure.
With holidays, I like to add some thing practical to give along with the fun and extra things I get.  So this theme was a great way to add some everyday shower items the family uses.

I decided to go to Bath and Body Works that year and get a few items for each of them. The kids were at great ages where I was able to incorporate reinforcing a good habit of personal hygiene into their lives with a bright holiday theme.  I picked up some yummy smelling scents they would enjoy.  I purchased 2 or 3 items for each of them and my husband as well.  The scents for the boys aren't very broad- but they do have a nice Ocean scent that he enjoys.

I also grabbed a few bath bombs from a local vendor for each of them.  Then I added a new deodorant for good measure, ha.  Really though, why not?  I am a big fan of adding necessary and mundane things to the mix on holidays to pump up the volume factor of the simple gift giving.  That seems to go hand in hand with Showering someone with your love.  Not just sprinkling.  Does that make sense?  Add a fin ribbon.  Go the extra mile with the balloons or tags.  THIS is a perfect time to show extra love to our loved ones!  It's not the cost- it's how we make them feel.

There are a few simple tags I made to go along with these Valentine gifts.  They add the perfect little touch and put the whole theme together.  Here are the tags I used.  If you right click the image you can download it to your device and print them for your own use!

Here are some photos of the way I displayed everything in our basement bathroom shower.  We happened to have shelving that worked to display these items.  If you don't- no sweat.  Put them under the balloons, or where it works best in your home.  Just have fun and do the best you can with where you live and what you have!

LOOK at how SIMPLE and fun this Come Follow Me idea is! I have a dear friend who I've been discussing ideas with about how to personalize our parenting journey for teaching our families the gospel with this new curriculum.  One thing we decided was to make sure each of our family members no matter their age would have their own copy of the manual.  Secondly, we talked about how easy it would be to "make it our own" by quickly printing off a family photo to put on the cover.
We loved coming up with this idea as it adds to the special instruction God gives us (which is in the first lesson of the manual) which is learning is a personal commitment.  An individual journey!
All you need to do if you'd like to personalize your cover is
1. Find a photo you love
2. Size it to a 8×8 Square.
3. Print out either at home or at store- then cut out if necessary
4. Use a glue stick or scrapbook blue runner, or even uses clear packing tape and tape across the top completely for a laminated looked.

We perfered the simple glue stick.  We were able to adhere it through rhe edges really well.

Happy Sabbath to all our new friends here at Home Centered Living!  We can't wait to watch this new year unfold.  Do us a favor if you're here- share the news with your friends we've "moved in" and were looking forward to meeting all of you! 🖤
